WinterWonderGrass 2016 had a 89% waste diversion rate.
Recycling and composting stations are placed throughout the festival site and the WinterWonderGrass Green Team and Walking Mountains Team are constantly checking and sorting these stations.
We encourage all fans to pack it in, pack it out. Please make sure you put all of your garbage in the right receptacles. It really does make a difference!
We do not sell single-use plastic water bottles on site. However, we do offer free water fill stations-- we encourage fans to bring their own refillable water bottles to stay properly hydrated all weekend.
With every 3-day festival ticket purchased, the ticket holder receives a Klean Kanteen commemorative, stainless steel, sustainable festival mug. The use of these Klean Kanteen mugs cuts down on a considerable amount of single use plastic cups. The mugs are also for sale at the merchandise tent
All food vendors are required to use compostable bio-cups and flatware onsite and we offer reusable GoWare Bamboo Utensil Kits for sale at the Merchandise tent.
LOCAL & ORGANIC PRODUCTS
We prioritize working with our local businesses who focus on sourcing local products. A few of the businesses focused to sustainability and the use of local and organic products on site this year:
The picnic tables around the site are hand made by the WWG Team with recycled beetle kill wood. The Soapbox Stage is hand crafted with refurbished wood and the whiskey barrels and benches are all refurbished and branded WWG. We take pride in producing quality organic products that stand the test of time and represent the authenticity of the WinterWonderGrass brand.
